TRAVEL TIPS

Arriving

ARRIVING BY AIR

It is strongly recommended that attendees travel into the Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) airport as it is four miles from our conference site. BWI is served by all major US carriers and is a hub for Southwest Airlines. For general information about BWI, please visit http://www.bwiairport.com/ including a list of non-stop flight service http://www.bwiairport.com/en/flight/nonstop-flights/
The metropolitan region is served by two other major airports, Dulles (IAD) and National (DCA). Due to traffic patterns, each are over an hour away from the conference venue. We have detailed ground transit options and maps to the conference venue for both airports. If you should need these please contact our local arrangements chair.

ARRIVING BY TRAIN

Our conference venue is on the Northeast Corridor. The nearest station is BWI Airport (BWI) and is served by both AMTRAK (http://www.amtrak.com/) and MARC regional rail on the Penn Line (http://www.mtamaryland.com/services/marc/). Please note that MARC does not currently have weekend service.

CONNECTING TO THE DC METRO

There are two ways to connect to BWI from the DC metro system (http://www.wmata.com/), a MARC train from Union Station on the red line or an express bus from Greenbelt station on the green line: http://www.wmata.com/bus/b30_brochure.cfm

ARRIVING BY CAR

Our conference venue is accessible directly from the main North-South interstate I-95, just south of the Baltimore beltway. Using exit 47 to the airport access spur I-195, one mile west will lead to campus and three miles east will lead to the airport and our hotels. Detailed directions are provided under “local transit tips.” There is free parking provided at all recommended hotels and campus locations.
